Bristol Gay Men's Chorus is a performance choir. This means there's an expectation that all members will take part in public and private performances, and there will be a requirement regarding commitment for participation in our performances.
Bristol Gay Men's Chorus is committed to a standard of excellence in singing and performing and will support members in demonstrating and maintaining their skills.
What is the formation of Bristol Gay Men's Chorus and how is it managed?
Bristol Gay Men's Chorus is a newly formed choir, set up by 5 friends who are existing members of an LGBT+ choir in Bristol. The founding members are:
Rónán de Búrca (also our Music Director)
Our guiding principles and the way in which we expect our members to conduct themselves are based on kindness, tolerance, acceptance and friendship, and as a membership organisation we have three guiding principles, our “Three S’s”:
The celebration of life and music through male voice harmonies;
Using this activity to develop social bonds that help people to feel connected with a sometimes lonely world;
To be there for each other, both collectively and individually, and to also be there for the communities in which the chorus operates.
